Family & Friends Support Group

Service Description

The Alaska Eating Disorders Alliance (AKEDA) offers a free and confidential support group for Family and Friends supporting a loved one who is experiencing an eating disorder or in the process of recovery. Meetings occur virtually on the third Saturday of each month from 9:30-10:30 am except on holidays. Groups are facilitated by Evelyn Abello, LPC., who will assure that conversations remain safe and supportive. The group will not provide therapy; rather the goal is to serve as a place for support and the building of a positive, pro-recovery community. Helpful articles, videos and other resources are shared in advance to enable you to take care of yourself and support your loved one. Please join us from a quiet, confidential place. You will be able to join using any computer, smartphone, or tablet using the Zoom app. IMPORTANT: When you receive the Zoom login, you may use this for all future support groups.
